Shownotes:

Here's a few notes on some of the music covered on this show. I talked over "Brodekin" -- my thinly veiled attempt at making dance music.

------
Nicole Atkins - New album, Neptune City, is out tomorrow and will be available via iTunes.

The Avett Brothers - Brothers Seth and Scott Avett joined by Bob Crawford makes foot-stomping music from North Carolina. Their latest album, Emotionalism, was released in May.

Meg Baird - Find out about about Meg and her solo album, Dear Companion, by going to the links below.

Great Lake Swimmers - Singer/Songwritter Tony Dekker released his album, Ongiara, early this year. See GLS this fall as they stop by your town.

M. Ward - There's not enough things to say about this man. I strongly suggest listening to M. Ward's entire discography.

Basia Bulat - It was her cover of "Someday" by The Strokes that caught my attention. Then I was hooked by her music from her debut release of Oh, My Darling. She also bears a resemblance to Michelle Williams of Dawson's Creek. Basia will be touring with Final Fantasy this fall.

Mike Andrews - You may know if him from his work on the soundtrack of Donnie Darko and Me You and Everyone We Know. Mike Andrews has a solo project, Hand On String, filled with quiet and intimate songs.
[official]

Dana Falconberry - Caught off guard. That's exactly how I felt after listening to Dana Falconberry's six song EP, Paper Sailboat, for the first time. It was gorgeous music and I found myself playing her songs again and again. While I anticipate her next album, you can find out more about Dana from her official site and myspace page.

Mirah and Spectratone International - Is there anything this woman can't do? Thank goodness for a new album. I've worn out the grooves of all my Mirah records. This time around, Mirah Yom Tov Zeitlan is joined by Lori Goldston and Kyle Hanson of Spectratone International on Share This Place. I've never considered liking an album about bugs but with Mirah's touch, I couldn't help myself. Mirah will be performing on 8/22 in Los Angeles at The Hayworth Theater for Radio8Ball Show.
[official]

Peter and the Wolf - Red Hunter is joined by a rotating cast of friends (including Dana Falconberry) on the album The Lightness. Find out if they coming to your town.
